When to Buy a Remanufactured Laser Printer Cartridge

Should you buy a new or a remanufactured laser printer cartridge? To tell you the truth there is not much difference in terms of quality between the brand spanking new model and the remanufactures laser print cartridge. However there is a significant drop in price with most remanufactured print cartridges being up to thirty percent less expensive then buying one that has never been used before.

However, before you run to the store to buy a new or remanufactured laser printer cartridge, which are also sometimes just called discounted laser printer cartridges,  make sure that you actually need one. Sometimes a simple printing problem can make it seem like you have a laser printer cartridge that is running out of toner. Before you buy make sure that the problem does not have something to do with your machine. The culprit could be stuck paper, the wrong settings or a problem with your software application. Sometimes the problem is the texture or thickness of the paper causing the printer to smear, clot or fade out into nothingness as the printer prints out.

If you are lucky you have the kind of printer that takes printer cartridges that show you the actual level of the ink. However you may have no choice but to take the cartridge out of the printer and inspecting it manually. Sometimes shaking the cartridge gently can help you tell if there is still toner in it as you can hear a slight clicking or sloshing sound.

Even if there's ink in the laser printer cartridge reservoir, the printing problems that you are experiencing could still be the fault of the casing of the cartridge nozzle. If it is badly clogged then it is definitely time to go out and buy either a new or remanufactured laser printer cartridge.
